We Can Work With Your Insurance Company on Home Painting
As the premier local painting company, we often collaborate with homeowners’ insurance companies to restore the beauty of homes after severe weather events. Navigating the intricacies of insurance claims can be complex, but we have expertise in coordinating with adjusters and carrying out work according to the policy coverages. We understand that these events can be stressful for homeowners, so we aim to ensure the process is seamless, communicating updates regularly and openly. Our crews diligently assess the damage, generate comprehensive reports, and propose suitable solutions to ensure the restoration aligns with the insurance benefits. We can also visit your home when the adjuster arrives to make sure the appraisal process is smooth and honest.
What are the Best Paint Types For Different Home Exteriors?
We use only the highest quality paints, primers, and tools, but here is a quick overview of ideal materials depending on your home’s exterior.
For vinyl siding, use 100% acrylic latex paint, which flexes with vinyl’s movement to prevent cracking. Primer isn’t always needed unless there’s severe staining or damage. Furthermore, lighter colors will avoid cracking and bowing associated with heat retention.
Fiber Cement (Hardie Plank) also does best with acrylic latex paint, due to its ability to withstand different weather conditions. It’s recommended to apply a primer first to ensure a smooth, durable finish.
For wood, oil-based primer followed by acrylic latex paint is the go-to combination. Oil-based primer penetrates and seals the wood, and latex paint provides a resilient finish. We may also need to do a bit more work preparing the surface if you have wood – we need to look out for cracks and holes.
Elastodynamic paint is ideal for brick, as it fills cracks and withstands temperature changes. For unsealed, unpainted brick, apply a masonry primer first. We can also apply limewash for an old-world, rustic feel.
Use acrylic latex paint designed for masonry or stucco. It’s flexible and can handle stucco’s texture. Apply a masonry primer first if the stucco is unpainted, heavily stained, or repaired.
